Accurate measurements do not need to be complicated. A simple record of the room, the architecture and your storage needs gives a designer a much stronger starting point.
Measure the room, not just the wall
Record ceiling height, wall-to-wall dimensions, skirting, sockets, radiators, windows and door swings. These details influence usable depth and the best position for every cabinet.
Measure what you own
A wardrobe works better when the interior is based on real clothing, shoes and accessories. Note long-hang pieces, folded stacks and items that need special access.
Quick planning checklist
- Take three measurements across each wall
- Photograph corners and obstructions
- Note the longest garments and largest items
