Applicability
Suitable for
Creating a controlled approval plan for storage-hardware drawings, samples, finish, dimensions, installation, packaging and any agreed test.
Not suitable for
Claiming that an unnamed SKU has passed a load, coating, dimensional or compliance test when the dated record is unavailable.
Traceable approval facts
| Control item | Required input | Approval output | Traceable source / owner |
|---|---|---|---|
| Drawing | SKU, revision, dimensions, tolerances, material and finish | Signed or otherwise controlled drawing baseline | Buyer and product owner |
| Golden sample | Approved physical sample with identifier and date | Reference for appearance, fit and workmanship | Procurement/content owner; technical reviewer |
| Installation | Orientation, substrate, fasteners, spacing and mating parts | Repeatable test and site configuration | Buyer/site owner and technical reviewer |
| Test | Method, specimen quantity, load distribution, acceptance rule and date | Dated result linked to the specimen | Test report — product-specific record not yet published; technical reviewer |
| Packaging | Unit pack, labels, carton, quantity and handling route | Approved pack standard and inspection checklist | Buyer and procurement owner |
Method and evidence
The checklist follows a controlled-record sequence: freeze the drawing, identify the physical sample, define the installation and test configuration, record acceptance, then approve packaging. A product photograph can confirm observable form only; it cannot substitute for a drawing revision or test record.

Decision rules
If a dimension affects fit, approve the controlled drawing before the sample because photographs cannot establish tolerance. Exception: a buyer may explicitly designate a measured master sample as the controlling record.
If a load value will be quoted, test the complete declared installation because bracket-only results do not represent the substrate, fasteners, shelf and load distribution. Exception: a qualified engineer may approve a documented calculation route.
Limitations
No SKU-specific test result is published on this page. Any later performance number must identify the specimen or SKU, installation orientation, substrate, fastener type, load distribution, test method and test date. A supplier photo, catalogue field or undated spreadsheet is not sufficient test evidence.
